Msgr. James L. J. Fitzpatrick

Monsignor James L. J. Fitzpatrick, M. Div., the pastor at St. John the Evangelist  Parish, was born and raised in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  Monsignor entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, PA in 1979 and was ordained to the Priesthood on May 19th, 1984.  He was elevated to the rank of Honorary Prelate of His Holiness by the late Pope John Paul II on March 14th, 1998.  Monsignor served as the Archdiocesan Director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and Holy Childhood Association.  He also served on the Board of Directors for the National Office of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and Holy Childhood in New York while he was Pastor of St. Philip Neri in Philadelphia just before coming to St. John the Evangelist Parish.

We, the people of the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Community, graced by the Father, baptized in Christ Jesus, and empowered by the Holy Spirit are called to serve the Lord and each other through gifts of love, witness and ministry. As the people of God, we are called to collaborate with our Pastor, entrusted to us by our Archbishop, to unify our parish community in worship and in mission.

In worship, we draw our greatest strength and unity from the Mass: the celebration of our thanksgiving to God the Father for the gift of His Son. We continue to grow in the love of God and one another through the reception of the sacraments, mediation on Sacred Scripture, participation in our liturgical celebrations, and in personal prayer.

In mission, we are challenged to inner conversion, evangelization, works of charity, and the pursuit of peace and justice.

We call upon St. John the Evangelist, our patron, and Mary, our Mother, to guide us in this Faith Journey.

It is our hope that one day every member of our Parish Family will participate fully in the Life of Jesus Christ and His Church.
