ABOUT CUB PACK 191

It is the mission of Cub Scout Pack 191 to meet the spiritual, developmental and social needs of boys in the first through fifth grades by instilling lifetime values through programs involving the family that result in achieving full potential and becoming responsible participants in our community. The values we strive to instill are based on the Scout Oath and Law.

Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church is the chartering organization for Cub Scout Pack 191. The Pack is part of Playwicki District, Bucks County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Pack meetings are held monthly throughout the year on the third Friday of each month at 7:00 PM. St. John the Evangelist School provides us with use of its spacious cafeteria as our regular meeting place. Several times a year pack meetings are held off site in conjunction with special activities such as campfires/camp outs. All of our pack meetings are open to the entire family.

Cub Scout Pack 191 provides boys in the First through Fifth Grades with the opportunity to have fun and make new friends through games, crafts, skits, songs, stunts, stories, tricks, puzzles, adventure, nature, outdoor activities, sports and academic programs, religious awards programs, prizes, and special awards. At the same time boys will learn about values, making ethical decisions, becoming good citizens, self discipline and self reliance.

A Pack Committee formed of adult volunteers approved by the chartering organization oversees the planning and operation of the pack. A Cubmaster is responsible for implementing the program and the day to day operation of the pack.

The Pack Committee meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, in the rectory lounge of St. John the Evangelist. The meetings start at 8:00 P.M., and finish in approximately 90 minutes. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend and participate in the Pack Committee meetings.

Pack 191's Cubmaster has 20 + years of scouting experience. As a boy, he was a Cub Scout and earned his Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos badges and his Arrow of Light. He continued in Boy Scouting, where he passed through the ranks from Tenderfoot through Eagle. He was also awarded a bronze palm. As a Boy Scout, he became an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow, Delmont Lodge. He has experience in High Adventure camping at the Philmont National Boy Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. As an adult, he has continued his involvement as an adult volunteer since 1990. He has served as a Boy Scout Merit Badge counselor, Cub Scout Den Leader, Assistant Cubmaster and now Cubmaster. Pack 191 benefits from his leadership and experience as he helps to lead boys along the same scouting trail he has already traveled.
